Surfer, Lifeguard, and Actor Tamayo Perry Dies at 49

Perry was an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety and well-known North Shore waterman

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi announced the passing of surfer and actor Tamayo Perry on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Perry, 49, was a lifeguard for Honolulu Ocean Safety for eight years and made acting appearances in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film, On Stranger Tides, and the TV shows Lost, Hawaii Five-0, and Blue Crush.

He also had roles in the Charlie's Angels sequel Full Throttle and appeared in a Coca-Cola advertisement.

Perry was a talented surfer and waterman

Perry was a talented surfer and waterman who grew up on the North Shore of Oahu. He was known for his big-wave surfing and his love of the ocean.

In addition to his surfing and acting career, Perry was also a dedicated lifeguard. He saved countless lives during his time with Honolulu Ocean Safety.

Perry's death is a tragic loss for the surfing community and for the city of Honolulu.

He will be remembered as a talented surfer, a dedicated lifeguard, and a beloved member of the community.
